Crew Replacement of Tanker Pool Vessels at PT MCS Internasional”
The maritime industry plays a critical role in supporting global trade, with tanker vessels
serving as the main mode of transporting oil and its derivatives. Efficient crew replacement
is vital to ensuring the continuous and timely operation of these vessels. This study aims to
examine the influence of the crew document filing process on the replacement of tanker pool
crew members at PT MCS Internasional. The research employed a quantitative approach
with a descriptive-explanatory design, using questionnaires distributed to 43 respondents
and analyzed through correlation, regression, and hypothesis testing. The findings indicate
a strong and significant relationship between the document filing process and crew
replacement efficiency. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that 74.4% of the
variance in crew replacement is influenced by the efficiency of the document filing process,
while the remaining 25.6% is attributed to other factors. The study recommends the
implementation of a digital, integrated document filing system and regular staff training to
minimize delays and improve operational performance. This research contributes to
maritime human resource management by highlighting the strategic role of document
administration in supporting ship readiness and competitive advantage.
