dc.description.abstract Alfiansyah, Firman. 564211293. “ Optimization of Boiler Burner Maintenance to Support Boiler Performance on Board MV. Prima Andalan 1 ” The boiler is a vital component on board ships, generating pressurized steam essential for various operations such as fuel heating, water heating, and space heating. Its performance is highly dependent on the burner, which ensures effective fuel combustion. This study aims to identify the root causes of declining boiler performance and to propose optimized maintenance strategies for the burner system on board the MV. Prima Andalan 1. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing observation, documentation, and direct interviews with engine room crew as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that the main factors affecting boiler performance include inadequate maintenance of burner components such as nozzles, electrodes, fuel filters, and improper electrode gap settings. Additionally, the lack of spare parts worsens the condition. By implementing scheduled maintenance routines such as cleaning, part replacement, and improved spare part management systems, the boiler’s performance can be restored and operational reliability enhanced. This study is expected to increase crew awareness and understanding of the importance of proper maintenance of boiler combustion systems. en_US
