Abstract:
Hazlia, Rahmita. 2025. “Effectiveness Analysis of Seacrew Application Usage to
Facilitate Crew Changes at PT Multikreasi Senalaut Services’’
The Seacrew application is a digital-based crew management system designed to
streamline ship crew change administration processes. Technical issues and ineffective
use of this application can seriously impact crew rotation efficiency, operational
performance, and data accuracy. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the
Seacrew application in facilitating crew changes at PT Multikreasi Senalaut Services,
focusing on two dominant problems: delays in the crew change process and technical
system disruptions during data input. The research employs a qualitative descriptive
approach with data collection through direct observation and documentation study during
shore practice. Data were analyzed using the fishbone diagram method to identify root
causes. The results indicate that crew change delays are caused by the absence of
standardized SOPs, overlapping workflows, and non-integrated data. Meanwhile,
technical issues in the Seacrew system primarily stem from unstable remote desktop
connections, data input module bugs, and insufficient user competency. Solutions include
digital workflow improvements, regular technical training, and comprehensive system
audits. These measures have proven effective in enhancing Seacrew application
utilization and streamlining crew change processes. This study is expected to serve as a
reference for companies in optimizing digital-based crew management systems and
contribute to information system development in the shipping industry.
