Sanggau" Low Sulphur Waxy Residue (LSWR) is a type of petroleum cargo produced from crude oil distillation with a low sulfur content, characterized by its tendency to solidify under 48°C, especially when not handled with proper post-discharge procedures. This study aims to analyze the handling of LSWR solidification that occurs in the Marpol line after the discharge process on MT. SANGGAU. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through direct observation, interviews with ship officers, and documentation during sea practice. The findings show that the solidification of LSWR was caused by the incomplete drying of the Marpol line, worsened by limited operational time and a lack of coordination between the ship and the terminal. In addition, corrective action in the form of manual cleaning was found to be inefficient, timeconsuming, and posed a high safety risk. Therefore, the recommended solution is the installation of a heating coil system on the Marpol line, along with adjustments to the operational schedule to allow for optimal drying procedures. The implementation of this solution is expected to improve both the efficiency and safety of cargo discharge operations on oil tankers.
