Noviatin, Siti, 2025. “ The Impact of Crewing agency Management and Recruitment
Standardization on Offshore Crew Change Efficiency at PT. Mitra Samudra Sejati.”
The increasing demands of offshore maritime operations highlight the critical need for
competent crew management and standardized rekrutmenprocesses. This research
investigates the influence of crewing agency handling and rekrutmenstandardization on
the efficiency of offshore crew changeovers at PT. Mitra Samudra Sejati, a company
managing crew s for vessels operating in the Middle East region. While prior studies
emphasize crew competency and human resource practices in general maritime contexts,
this research provides a focused, empirical contribution in the offshore segment, where
time-sensitive and high-risk operations prevail. The primary objective was to determine
the extent to which effective agency management and standardized rekrutmenprocedures
affect the smoothness of crew transitions. Using a quantitative methodology, data were
collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 50 informed respondents,
including maritime experts, and crew industry-ready graduates. Statistical analysis,
including correlation and regression, was conducted to assess the relationship between
variables. Results show that both variables significantly influence crew change
efficiency. The regression analysis confirmed that 37,4% and 37% of the variance in
smooth crew change operations could be explained by crewing agency handling and
rekrutmenstandardization combined. These findings reinforce the importance of
professional agency practices and consistent rekrutmenstandards in optimizing workforce
transitions. This study offers practical guidance for offshore shipping firms aiming to
enhance human resource performance, operational continuity, and global competitiveness
through structured personnel strategies. |
