Dillon Habibil, Muhammad. 2025. "The Influence of Office Facility Availability on the
Efficiency of the Clearance Process at PT. Pelayaran Rickmus Samudera"
The rapid growth of globalization and international trade has increased the demand for
efficiency in the shipping industry, particularly in the clearance process which plays a
vital role in ensuring smooth cargo operations. PT. Pelayaran Rickmus Samudera,
operating in Batam, faces challenges related to clearance delays, often caused by
inadequate office facilities. Unlike previous studies that mainly focused on human
resources or bureaucratic issues, this research emphasizes the influence of office
facilities such as workspace, electronic equipment, and internet connectivity on the
efficiency of the clearance process. The research problem focuses on how these facilities
affect the speed and accuracy of clearance activities and to what eXtent technological
infrastructure contributes to improving operational performance. This study employs a
quantitative approach through questionnaires distributed to employees directly involved
in the clearance process, and the data is analyzed using simple linear regression. The
results indicate a significant positive relationship between the availability of quality
office facilities and increased clearance efficiency, where modern and well-maintained
facilities support faster and more accurate communication, document handling, and
interdepartmental coordination. The study concludes that improving the quality of office
facilities and technological support, along with routine maintenance and employee
training, is essential to enhancing operational efficiency. These findings are eXpected to
provide practical recommendations for the company and contribute to the development
of operational management practices in the shipping sector |
